BTW, the reason why purple is considered a royal colour:


  • Purple dye was originally sourced from several species of sea snails.

  • These sea snails use the purple to sedate their prey or as a defence mechanism.

  • Twelve thousand of these snails yield around 1.5 g of purple dye.

  • Due to the nature of economics, this made purple very expensive,

  • As a result, it was typically worm by people of high authority i.e. royalty.
